Eastern Red Cedar

Eastern Red Cedar is produced from the eastern red cedar tree, a common coniferous species growing on a variety of sites throughout the eastern half of United States. Although not generally considered to be an important commercial species, its wood is highly valued because of its beauty, durability, and workability.

  • Light red and cream colored, holds it original color longer than most mulches.
  • Very aromatic and naturally insect resistant.
  • Insulates soil from damage from freeze/thaw cycles
  • Helps deflect evaporation of moisture from soil
  • Light Weight and resistant to decay

Aged Eastern Red Cedar

Aged Eastern Red Cedar is produced from the eastern red cedar tree, a common coniferous species growing on a variety of sites throughout the eastern half of United States. Although not generally considered to be an important commercial species, its wood is highly valued because of its beauty, durability, and workability. But is a season older resulting in a darker aged look as compared to the lighter color of the new fresher Eastern Red Cedar. Still has the same quality’s but comes at a reduced price. Great for the budget.

  • Light red and cream colored, holds it original color longer than most mulches.

To determine the amount of bulk mulch needed:
Length(Feet) x Width(Feet) divided by 160 sf @ 2″ deep = Total Cubic Yards Needed

      • Coverage @ 2″ deep will cover 160 SF Per Cubic Yard
      • Coverage @ 4″ deep will cover 80 SF Per Cubic Yard
      • coverage @ 6″ deep will cover 53 SF Per Cubic Yard

Example : 16 Feet x 20 feet area = 320 SF divided  by 160 SF @ 2″ Coverage will take 2 Cubic Yards
